JBay Animal Resources Society (JBARS) is a registered Canadian Charity. We are a group of passionate (volunteer) animal lovers dedicated to promoting health, care, and respect for all animals in the Jaltemba Bay region of Mexico.
We believe that every animal deserves a chance. We demonstrate this by addressing the over-population and neglect of animals by:
1. Offering free sterilization services
2. Providing resources for sick or injured animals
3. Promoting education & awareness
4. Facilitating responsible adoption
5. Supporting feeding efforts
JBARS is led by Andrea Burger, Mike Burger, Amy Huddleston and Donna Lloyd who work tirelessly to help animals, raise funds and ensure that JBARS continues to grow and thrive.
We are supported by a multitude of volunteers who help with the clinics, animal rescue, education and support, and fundraising. Together we speak for those who have no voice.

The first sterilization clinics in this area began by Lin Chimes in 2003 - inspired by her love for animals and and determination to create change. The lack of veternarian resources in the area, resulted in a large animal population left to fend for itself. This created a multitude of issues related to disease, starvation, neglect and aggression. At the time, controlling the animal population consisted of heart-breaking solutions such as poison, shootings or abandonment
Lin believed compassion could create lasting change and remains a huge supporter of sterilization efforts today.
